KUMISA visits the Amajuba District’s Blaauwbosch music community in Newcastle

KUMISA’s district visit to the Amajuba District in Newcastle, KZN was conducted with the support of the Department of Social Development of KZN and the Blaauwbosch Youth Development Centre.

A freestyle music expression was used to kick off the program followed by an interactive discussion about the business of music and the different sources of income it generates.

In addition, the session provided insight into public domain copyright infringement cases and issues surrounding the copyright amendment bill.

Furthermore, after attending the district seminar, many aspiring musicians in Newcastle continually inquire about KUMISA’s programs and services, demonstrating KUMISA's popularity within the music community.
